We’ve been invited back to Gilbert White’s House in Selborne, to one of their key fund raising events, the Mulled Wine weekend, taking place on Saturday 1st of December and Sunday the 2nd December 2018.
As a small independent accredited Museum and registered charity, this is a key event in our fundraising calendar. The event celebrates the festive season in period style, with traditional decoration, wassailing in the garden, costumed interpreters and Mulled Wine. Singing has become an integral part of the event. Choirs perform throughout the day. We embrace all types of performance ranging from children’s choirs, community choirs, folk music, acapella and choirs with a more traditional, classical repertoire. We would be delighted if a number of your choir members could join us.
Short performances by various choirs and groups take place in the Great Parlour of the Museum throughout the day. The setting is very informal, with limited seating for either choir or audience. Performances are generally unaccompanied, unless a group brings its own equipment or instruments to play backing music. Regrettably the size of the Museum means we have no green room for choir members to use, so if you have a choir dress code, please ask members to arrive ready to perform. Free parking is available either in the village public car park, or weather permitting in our signed overflow field car park.
